Dated July 16,1822, Probated May26,1828,Charlotte,NC. In the name of God Amen. I, Moses Park of state of North Carolina and County of Mecklenburg being of sound and perfect mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in the following manner That is to say First I bequeath my soul to God who gave it and my body to the Earth from whence it came. First it is my will and desire that first after my decease I be buried in a decent manner by my executors.- Item. I desire that all my just debts be paid after being lawfully attested-- Item. I do give and bequeath unto my well and dearly beloved wife, Mary Park, two feather beds with the furniture belonging thereto and one walnut chest together with all the furniture of the little room of my House in which is the fireplace to enjoy and to dispose of as she may think fit. Likewise, I do bequeath unto my beloved wife, Mary Park, one horse with any fifth part of all my stock of horned cattle, hogs, and sheep. Also,, I bequeath unto my beloved wife, Mary Park, her living of my plantation during her lifetime. After which I bequeath to my son George the above mentioned stock to dispose of as he may think fit for his own use. Item. I do give and bequeath unto my Sons and Daughters, namely, Thomas, John, Ollivy, Moses, James and Polly the sum of fifteen pounds NC Currency to be divided equally between each and all of them. Item. I do give and bequeath unto my Son, George, the plantation on which Inow reside with the exceptions of the Bequeathment above made to my beloved wife during her lifetime. After which time I bequeath the whole of my landed possessions with all the appurtances thereto likewise the rest of all my property personal or other kind excepting what is above permanently bequeathed to my other children to my Son, George Park to him to hold or dispose of as he may think proper after my decease. And I do appoint, and ordain my Trusty Friend, James Cunningham Esq. Executor of this my last will and testament.
