NOTE: **RUTH EVANS was the daughter of Ruth Evans whose will was probated in Chatham Co. N.C. in 1803.Her grandmother was Mary McPherson.

Isaac Brooks and his wife, Ruth Evans were among the early settlers in Williamson County, Now Maury County, Tennessee.
A number of Joab Brooks,Sr's. children seem to have migrated to Tennessee around 1806. Among this group were: Margaret Brooks; Larkin Tippett Brooks;Sarah Brooks; Isaac Brooks and wife, Ruth Evans; and John Dimmaux Brooks.
John Brooks and Larkin Brooks returned to Chatham County, North Carolina at a later unknown date.

After considerable research to continue our lineage, I have arrived at this logical conclusion. Through association and location patterns, The Joab Brooks, who is in our direct line, is the son of Isaac Brooks and Ruth Evans, although I have no factual proof. There are also logical arguments he could have been the son of Larkin Tippett Brooks.
However, it seems more feasable that he was the son of Isaac and Ruth Brooks.
Early Maury County records show Isaac Brooks and his son Joab Brooks living there in the vicinity of Carters Creek, where Isaac Brooks had a mill.Records show Joab Brooks appointed to help build a road. Joab Brooks married Nancy Hunter, both originally from Chatham County, NC., in 1819. It is unknown when they left Maury County. The 1850 Cannon County census lists the Joab Brooks family, Isaac Brooks and his wife,Ruth Evans, and Isaac Brooks,Jr. and his wife, Elisabeth, and their children. as the only Brooks families in Cannon County. It is obvious to me that Joab Brooks was the son of either Isaac Brooks,Sr. or his brother, Larkin Tippett Brooks, so in any event, our lineage continues back to John Brooks, Esq. and his wife, Susan of England.
